Energy saving: E.S.S.P

The International Energy Agency forecasts an increase of primary energy consumption by 60 % by 2030. An important fact in addition thereto is that the buildings sector in Europe is accountable for 40 % of energy consumption. On the other hand fossil fuels are running out, which will probably result in a rise of the energy cost. What’s more, the Kyoto Protocol compels governments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. In order to achieve this objective, the European Parliament approved the directive on the Energy Performance of Buildings. This directive has been in force in the member states of the European Union since January 1st, 2006.

Luxafoil NV has developed an ’Energy Saving Simulation Program’ to assist engineers, architects and building owners in analysing their energy performance.

This software program calculates the effect of the Luxasolar glass foil on heating and cooling costs.
To this program dozens of parameters can be inputted such as exterior climate, facade orientation, glass surfaces per orientation, light - and energetic features of the existing glazing, output of cooling and heating systems, prices of electricity and gas in kWh, conversion of degree days, reduction of CO² emissions, calculation of the Payback Period, …

The use of ESSP is part of an overall advice solution that Luxafoil NV is offering to its customers to provide them with the possibility to calculate their energy management and  consumption in an understandable language.
